Please read through the following policies before scheduling an appointment.
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS:
Clients must be at least 6 years old at the time of service. Any client under the age of 18 will require a PARENT with them for the entire duration of the appointment, and the parent will be required to show ID, and sign a consent form on behalf of the minor.
You cannot be pierced if you are pregnant. Refrain from drinking anything with caffeine or taking ibuprofen for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please cancel your appointments at least 48 hours ahead of time.
JEWELRY REPLACEMENT POLICY
If your jewelry breaks or falls out of your piercing within two weeks of the initial piercing, it will be replaced and reinstalled by the piercer once at no cost. (PLEASE put some kind of earring in the piercing to keep the piercing channel open if your jewelry falls out. Failure to do this will result in the piercing healing over and would require scheduling and paying for another piercing service.)
If the jewelry breaks or falls out after two weeks, it can be replaced and re-installed, but you will be responsible for covering the cost of the new jewelry.
NOTE: Reinstalled does not mean re-pierced. It means that we will put a new earring in the previously pierced hole.
POST DOWNSIZING / UPSIZING POLICY
Long posts are installed at the time of piercing to account for the swelling during the first part of the healing process. This helps prevent your jewelry from embedding.
Downsizing (swapping your initial piercing post for a shorter one that sits flush with your ear) is a critical part of the healing process for the following locations:
- helix (high, mid, or low)
- conch
- flat
- nostril
Downsizing is optional but not critical for the following locations:
- lobes / constellations
- tragus
- forward helix
Downsizing is not available in the studio for the following locations, though you may schedule a jewelry installation to put new / different jewelry in these locations:
- rook
- daith
Downsizing is discussed at every piercing appointment and should be scheduled and take place about 6-8 weeks after the initial piercing process. The downsizing service costs $5 total if scheduled and completed by 10 weeks after the piercing. If downsizing occurs any later than that, it will be considered a jewelry installation and you will be charged the jewelry installation fee ($10), plus the cost of any labret posts used ($7 per post).
In some cases, your ear may swell to the point where we need to swap your post for an even longer one. We can upsize your post once at no cost, as long as the jewelry has not been downsized yet. If we have downsized your post and you need a longer one at any point, you will be charged the jewelry installation fee ($10), plus the cost of any labret posts used ($7 per post).
PAYMENT POLICY
Payment is due, in full, at the time of service. Sales tax will be charged. Card is the preferred method of payment, but we can also accept Venmo or cash, though we do not carry change.
RETURNS / REFUND POLICY
All sales on jewelry are final--no refunds will be processed. Due to the nature of the jewelry being sold, we cannot accept returned products or products for exchange. If products arrive damaged, please email piercedthestudio@gmail.com and we will assist you!
